PRINCETON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND

Princeton Elementary School Playground

The playground at Princeton Elementary School, in Prince George’s County, Maryland, encourages children to connect through play while promoting physical development and strategic thinking. There are twenty interactive play activities included in this Smart Play®: Venti® structure, donated by Landscape Structures. The innovative structure features slides, nets, belts, climbers, and accessibility through multiple entry points. That sets the stage for constant fun, activity and challenges.

Sparks@Play consulted with Princeton Elementary School and the Prince George’s County Public School system on design and installation needs of the project—as well as supervised the service day build. Principals attending a recent National Association of Elementary School Principals conference volunteered their time and energy to help build this playground during their Community Service Day.

GARRISON FOREST SCHOOL PLAYGROUND

Garrison Forest School Playground

Featuring the Canyon Collection by Landscape Structures, this beautiful, nature inspired playground is nestled into a hillside adjacent to the Lower School to provide a fun and challenging play structure for elementary school-aged students with design work by Landscape Architect Julie Higgins at Hord Coplan Macht. It serves as the perfect complement to Garrison Forest School’s wooded suburban campus. Sparks@Play and Hunt Valley Contractors are currently developing another project at the campus—a creative play space that will serve as an outdoor classroom.

GREENBRIAR LOCAL PARK

Greenbriar Local Park

This 25-acre park is home to a multi-age, interpretive themed playground—along with sports fields, courts, a picnic shelter, a looped walking path, and much more, to entertain the entire family. The park features two themed playgrounds depicting the journey of a raindrop, from the Piedmont Plateau in the Western Maryland mountains, down to the Chesapeake Bay. Sparks@Play’s expertise and passion for play is evident in this project’s planning, design and site preparation.
