Project Overview
The Fields at RFK in Washington, DC features a destination playground designed to complement the surrounding athletic facilities with dynamic, inclusive play opportunities. Installed in May 2020, the playground is anchored by a custom PlayBooster® tower that challenges older kids with climbing, sliding, and lookout experiences, paired with a Netplex® playstructure that encourages social, active play through nets and interconnected pathways. Freestanding play components add variety and choice, ensuring children can climb, spin, and balance at their own pace. To enhance comfort and safety, integrated shade sails cover the main play structures, while SkyWays® shade systems extend protection to gathering and spectator areas. Together, these features create a vibrant playground experience that balances challenge, accessibility, and community gathering, making the playground at The Fields at RFK a centerpiece for play within the broader campus.
