Kentland Community Center Playground

Project Overview

Kentland Community Center Playground in Landover, Maryland is a vibrant custom playspace, installed in April 2020, designed to offer inclusive and multi-age fun for the community. Anchored by a Net-play climber that forms a “hyper-loop” of climbing and social exploration, the space also features a customized Netplex® structure with integrated climbers, nets, and slides that challenge older kids with active adventure. Younger children can enjoy the Weevos® play-system, designed for balance, discovery, and early play, while freestanding features such as Rhapsody® Outdoor Musical Instruments and the Global Motion® spinner add sound, sensory, and motion play for all ages. To ensure safety and accessibility, the playground incorporates Surface America’s PlayBound™ Poured-in-Place surfacing with custom graphics, aliphatic binder, and a long-term warranty, creating a durable, colorful foundation that ties the entire design together. With its thoughtful mix of equipment and surfacing, Kentland Community Center Playground offers a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children of all abilities can climb, spin, make music, and play together—making it a true hub of activity and community pride.
